The children's Star

Imagine a shining six-pointed Star like the one shown above.

It is made of two triangles. One points upwards and one points downwards. All the sides are the same length. When you place them one over another, they make a star. Why not cut out two equal-sided triangles from a piece of paper and try it for yourself.

In the picture, the two triangles have been put one on top of the other. In this way they have been joined together in one big Star. There are no lines through what they form. Just a Star.

In the picture the Star seems to be shining.

Because there are no lines in the Star, it means that everyone in the world is not just a man or a woman or a boy or girl, separate and on their own. Instead they are all part of one great whole. They are linked with one another.

When we think of the light that shines from the Star it is actually shining from somewhere inside our hearts although we can't see it with our eyes. In exactly the same way it can shine from everyone else's. The light that shines from eveyone's heart is actually the same light.

The Star means lots of other things too. Here's one of them:

The upward-pointing triangle means that we are looking for something bigger and stronger than us - for instance, the great light that the Star brings.

The downward-pointing triangle is like the light shining down into us. This means we can be happy and sure that there is love all around.

The full Star is like someone who is shining with light - or like the light we see in the sky which we feel shines on us.

Others have learned to use the star. Learn about Peter Parrot and the adventures he has with HIS magic star. You too can be like Peter Parrot.
