When Peter Parrot awakens
this time in his mountain nest in the Himalayas, he knows it is
a Miracle Day, because his magic Star is suddenly filled with
Silver Light - "the light which melts away problems and makes
everyone feel happier."
So Peter must decide where
this Silver Light is most needed. Surveying his map, he unexpectedly
finds his magic Star taking him to a strange land where he meets
his new friend Esmond Egret, and discovers he is in Africa.
Esmond tours Peter through
the dry river beds, the dying grasslands and the hungry villagers.
"I believe in miracles," says Peter, and promptly his
magic Star turns blue and shoots up into the sky. Clouds appear
and the rain begins to fall.
When the Star turns silver
again, it leads Peter and Esmond into the heart of the jungle,
where they witness animals dying--shot by hunters or losing their
habitat . Peter gathers all the animals together and assures them,
"Everything will be better for you now. The Silver light
will protect you and your forest and help humans realize they
must care for you better." Promptly, the Silver light shoots
out sparks and touches every creature's heart. "We all want
magic Stars, " they say.
Peter and his friends are
also on the CD that comes with the book. Play it and you can listen
while they help you to imagine, to have fun moving around and
dancing, and to learn how to visualize things in your mind's eye.
It presents a flavour of Africa with drumming music and Jenny
Dent leads you in a simple meditation with "miracle"
music playing.
