Supporters of both Starlink and Star Action have asked if they can get together in prayer groups using the Star to pray for any world condition. To help you we have created this Prayer and Meditation Groups guidance page.....
PRAYER AND MEDITATION GROUPS INSPIRED BY STARLINK
The purpose of our Starlink web site is to make a gift of the beautiful symbol of the Star which White Eagle has given, to everyone who might find it helpful to use it. The following suggestions for setting up a Prayer and Meditation group are similarly a gift, arising from our experience in working with the symbol of the Star.
We must make it clear however that if you are setting up such a group, we give you our inward support, but The White Eagle Lodge as an organisation cannot take any responsibility for the activities of your group.
We ask you kindly to make this clear to those who work with you, and that your group should not formally be referred to as a 'White Eagle Group'. We will offer you informal assistance as far as we can, but are not able to provide ongoing structured support.
THE STAR IS A SYMBOL OF UNIVERSAL PEACE.
Symbols are powerful tools to help us focus our thoughts and prayers. The symbol of a shining six-pointed Star is a particularly effective and inspiring symbol. The Star reminds us that all different religious pathways lead eventually to the same place—a place of peace and harmony. The Star reminds us of our opportunity to work with God, with good thought, to facilitate the healing of the earth, of conditions on the earth, of individuals and of the animal kingdom.
Starlink Prayer Groups can take any form and be composed of people from any religion, or no religion at all. Their common meeting ground is the use of the symbol of a shining six-pointed Star as a focal point for concentration, and the projection of thoughts of peace, love and healing to the world. Meetings can take place at any time to suit those concerned, but choosing one of the specially powerful ‘prayer times’ of 3, 6, 9 and 12 according to local time is a good idea.
A SUGGESTED FORMAT FOR GROUP MEETINGS
PRE-MEDITATION MUSIC
Music could be selected from different religious traditions, if appropriate to the overall vibration of peace.
OPENING WORDS
As appropriate, stressing the universality of the work of the Star.
MEDITATION
Short readings from White Eagle or other world religious teachers.
Meditation could be based around the reading or led into after a short talk.
A SHORT PERIOD OF SILENT ATTUNEMENT TO THE STAR
STAR HEALING
After a period of silence, lead the group into a time of prayer for peace and healing using the shining Star as a focal point. Visualise the light touching the hearts and minds of all people, particularly those who are in conflict with other religious groups and those who are the leaders of these groups, and all in positions of power. Then include all in need, those known personally, and the animal and nature kingdoms.

PEACE READINGS
The following words might be used as a starting point for prayer and meditation for world peace. (These words were used at the dedication and opening ceremony for the ‘Little Temple for World Peace’ in Sri Lanka, when four major world religions were represented—Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. Families from each of these four traditions came together to pray for world peace.)
LOVE (from the Christian Bible)
Jesus said: 'This is my commandment. That ye love one another as I have loved you... You have heard it said, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I say "Love thine enemies, and pray for those who persecute you."
PEACE, LOVE and WISDOM (Reading from Buddhist scripture)
From the Nipata Sutta 149-150
'Just as a mother would protect her only child at the risk of her own life, even so, cultivate a boundless heart towards all beings. Let your thoughts of boundless love pervade the whole world with peace.'
From the Dhammapada 1.54 17.3
'Hatreds do not ever cease in this world by hating, but by love; this is an eternal truth. Overcome anger by love, overcome evil by good. Overcome the miser by giving, overcome the liar by truth. Live
in Peace.'
LIGHT (from Hindu scripture)
Chandogya Upanishad 3.13.7
'There is a Light that shines beyond all things on earth, beyond us all, beyond the heavens, beyond the highest, the very highest heavens. This is the Light that shines from the heart.'
PEACE... Living with God in daily life (Reading from Islamic scripture)
Verse of light from the Holy Quran, Sutra 24-35.
'In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. God is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The likeness of his Light is as a niche wherein a lamp, the lamp in a glass, the glass as it were a glittering Star, kindled from a blessed Tree, an Olive that is neither of the East nor of the
West, whose oil well nigh would shine, even if no fire touched it. Light upon light. God guides to His Light whom he Will.'
The spiritual teacher and philosopher, White Eagle, says:
‘Behind all religions through all the ages there has been and still is only one basic truth; this is the Ancient Wisdom. When you study this basic truth, you will recognise how its influence pervades all religions. It comes to light again and yet again in many a re-presentation, taking different forms, or different symbols may be used to set forth truth; but when you get back to the foundation you will find there the ancient belief, the ancient wisdom. This wisdom sets forth the plan of life. It exists in the solar system, in the heavens; and as above in the heavens, so it manifests below on the earth.’
‘We would like you to see this truth as a tree… a tree of knowledge, shall we call it, planted in the infinite and eternal garden. That tree has many branches, big branches breaking up into smaller ones, and even smaller ones, until you get a very fine skeleton of the tree. These branches are innumerable aspects of esoteric truth; but a person gets hold of one little branch, or even one little twig and thinks she or he has the whole truth, and that theirs is the only truth! By doing so a person is enclosing themselves in a little dark box, which we will call the mind, and it becomes a very dark prison. Slowly, however, people are touched in their hearts by the love of God, and even more slowly, awaken to the truth of the unity of all life and all religions.’
‘The truth has many facets. There is no new truth, but different views come to the soul in the course of its life. We give you the simile of a castle set upon a hill, which contains many rooms and many windows; the master of the castle visits room after room, moves to the window, gazes out upon the landscape and is impressed with its beauty. Whichever window he gazes through, he will see a different view. After seeing the first view, an ignorant man will say, “There is no other beauty in the universe but this glorious view which now lies before me.” This is what is happening to the majority of souls on earth. They look through one particular window of the castle of life, and think they are seeing all there is to be seen. This little illustration should teach us that there are many windows through which truth can be viewed. Therefore, should apparent contradictions in religious teaching appear, when a view of the whole is taken, understanding dawns and then man can reconcile and harmonise all the differing aspects of religion. Everything is true—it all depends from which angle you are getting your view!’
