If you're not used to visualizing an image, it may help actually
to gaze at the picture of the Star on this page with your eyes
open (or try the fullscreen version by clicking the Star at the top of this page). Try, though, not so much to stare with your eyes as simply
to be aware that there is a beautiful star in front of you.
Feel that it is a source of love, beauty, peace.
After a while you will be able to go on seeing it even after
your eyes are closed. Alternatively, close your eyes and just
imagine that there is a point of light in front of you, perhaps
just in front of your heart although you can see it in front
of your eyes if you prefer. As you gaze, let it become brighter
and bigger until you feel that it is the sun you are looking
at. Do no more than this for a few days, then when you feel
you are able to see the sun quite well, let it gently take a
different form. You may see a star inside it. Or you may imagine
it like a twinkling star in the sky at first. Or you may be
able just to let the curved lines of the sun redraw themselves
as a star.
Once you can see the star in your imagination, even in flashes,
you are well on the way. Just keep practising. You can then
start to use it either as a way of putting yourself in tune
with the light which lies at the heart of all existence; or
you can see its rays reaching to other people, bringing them
healing.
Imagine that a similar star, composed entirely of light, is shining
inside you. It can be as small or as large as you like. It can be inside you,
or you can be inside it. Or you can simply use your imagination and think
of yourself, totally, as a shining Star.
If you practice meditation, let the image of the Star be for you like a visual mantra. Click Star Meditation to find further suggestions.
